DESCRIPTION:
A special wine recently brought from Rioja Alavesa, a captivating red wine that is sure to please.
TASTING NOTES:
Color: intense cherry red, clear and bright.
Nose: an explosive aromatic richness, with aromas of red fruits, ripe plums and undergrowth scrub.
Palate: Structured and very fresh, with a persistent and attractive finish. A serious flavour that is also very drinkable.
Aftertaste: long, juicy, very pleasant.
Alcohol: 14.5% Vol.
Allergens: Contains sulfites
SERVICE TEMPERATURE:
16-18ºC
RECOMMENDED WITH:
Tapas and sausages, Iberian ham and Iberian sausages.
Pasta and rice with a powerful flavour.
Roasted and grilled meats: beef chop, hamburger, Iberian pork and pork shoulder, lamb chops cooked on vine shoots.
Meat and game stews.
Very suitable to accompany after-dinner conversation.
ELABORATION:
Harvest: Manual in 15 kg boxes.
Fermentation: 21 days in stainless steel tanks.
Routines: Cold maceration of the grapes prior to fermentation to favour the extraction of aromatic precursors. Daily pumping over to achieve greater extraction and greater colour intensity. Spontaneous natural fermentation.
Aging: 14 months in French oak barrels (half of the barrels are new) and a minimum of 3 years in bottle.
WINERIES AND VINEYARDS
Location: Plots at altitude in the 'Viñas de Briñas' area, between the municipalities of Briñas (Rioja Alta) and Labastida (Rioja Alavesa).
Climate: Oceanic Mediterranean, with continental and Atlantic influences.
The 2017 vintage was characterised by the harsh frost at the end of April and by a few months of great prosperity that followed, ideal for obtaining a healthy, high-quality harvest.
Soils: Limestone in nature with clay and sandstone incursions, with a clay loam texture and very poor in organic matter.
Variety : 100% Tempranillo.
